Indian shuttler HS Prannoy loses to Lu Guang Zu and bows out of the BWF World Tour Finals

Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has bowed out of the BWF World Tour Finals after he lost two consecutive games. He recently lost against Lu Guang Zu of China in group A. Prannoy lost a very closely fought battle against the Chinese shuttler as he fell short by 21-23,21-17,19-21.

The match lasted for a total of 84 minutes as both the shuttlers were refusing to give up and both felt that they had a chance to get the better of their opponents. Guang won the first game 23-21 after fighting tooth and nail. However Prannoy got right back into the game as he restored parity by taking the second game 21-17. Both players knocked points off each other but Prannoy held his nerves slightly better than his opponent to edge out that set.

The decider was on the knife’s edge as both players tried taking points off each other and gave each other a very tough fight. The game was tied at 19-19 with both players trying to work on each other’s weaknesses. In the end it came to an unforced error from HS Prannoy which resulted in an advantage for Guang who did not miss out on the opportunity as he sealed the win and it also meant HS Prannoy had to crash out of the event.

With HS Prannoy bowing out of the tournament, India have no representative left in the BWF World Tour Finals. The Indian shuttler is already out but he has another match left in the tournament against World No.1 Viktor Axelsen. Although the result of the game does not change anything for him, Prannoy will not allow the Danish shuttler to win it easily. He has always been a fighter throughout his entire career and that wont be different in this game aswell.

Prannoy was drawn in a very tough group with World No.1 Viktor Axelsen and others like Lu Guang Zu and Kodai Naraoka. HS Prannoy started his campaign against Kodai Naraoka and he lost the first match 12-21, 21-9, 17-21 before losing to Lu Guang Zu recently. He still has the toughest fixture of the group left and sadly he is already out of the tournament.
