Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant sets a franchise record after win against New York Knicks

Brooklyn Nets’ talisman Kevin Durant has made a roaring comeback into the NBA after a long time. Durant has fully recovered from the torn Achilles Tendon injury and he is back giving his best for his team. The 32-year old has had a good rest and he looks hungry to once again make his mark while playing for the Nets.

Durant has played at the top of his game and he has been able to hit the ground running after coming back from a massive injury. In fact, the power forward gave glimpses of his top form when he dropped 25 points against the Celtics in the preseason.

Durant has thus far played nine matches for his team in this season, out of which he has top scored in six of them. After top-scoring with 26 points in the team’s previous match against New York Knicks, which the Nets won by 116-109, Durant went on to make a franchise record.

Kevin Durant is now the second Nets player with 25+ points in eight consecutive games. The first was Bernard King who achieved the same feat back in January 1979. In fact, he had come up with 41 consecutive 25+ points performances while playing for Oklahoma City Thunder in 2014.

The list is topped by former legend Wilt Chamberlain who scored 25+ points in successive 106 games in 1961. Joint second on the list are Michael Jordan (40), James Harden (40 in 2019). LA Lakers LeBron James has scored 25+ points in 21 consecutive matches.

Durant will look to continue his good show and he will now have the company of James Harden, who has been traded from Houston Rockets in a four-team megadeal. The Brooklyn Nets will next face the Orlando Magic on 17th of January.
