It was a one-sided win for the LA Clippers as they completely destroyed the Dallas Mavericks by a huge margin of 154-111, thereby the Clippers lead the seven match series by 3-2 after game five of the series. Clippers’ superstar players Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were at their best and ran away with the match for their team.
The Dallas Mavericks, who had won the fourth game of the series, thanks to buzzer beater from their star player Luka Doncic, were no match for the potent LA Clippers on Tuesday.
The Clippers came up with a collective effort to obliterate the Mavericks. Montrezl Harrell got back into form as he scored 19 points and recorded 11 rebounds. Thus, it was an all-round performance from the LA Clippers.
Paul George also became the first NBA player to score 35+ points in 25 minutes or fewer in playoffs history since 1975. George got the support from his teammate Kawhi Leonard, who scored a total of 32 points in the match.
The duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard became the first teammates to score 30 points in under 30 minutes in the postseason. Both of these superstars were on a roll and the Dallas Mavericks defense had no answer to their assault.
It was one-way traffic as the Clippers were enjoying a huge lead of 76-52 at the half-way stage. There was no mercy from the Clippers after the half-time as they continued their domination throughout the match.
On the other hand, Luka Doncic, Mavericks star player, could only score 22 points as the Clippers were able to keep him at bay.
The sixth match of the series between the two teams will be played on Friday and it would be a must-win match for the Mavericks.
