Former American basketball point guard Jeff Teague believes one more championship will put Steph Curry on par with legendary Kobe Bryant. Curry is regarded as one of the best three-point shooters in the game and Teague added if the Golden State Warriors star adds another ring to his glittering cabinet, he will always be in the ‘top five best players of all-time’ conversation.
Curry, along with LeBron James and Kevin Durant, are regarded as three of the best players of the last two decades. Recently, the trio won the Olympic gold medal with the USA after they defeated France in the final.
Curry was at his absolute best in the semifinal clash against Serbia, scoring 36 points in a 95-91 victory.
“He’s the best point guard ever… He’s gonna be in that mix… I just don’t see too many people better than him… If he gets another ring, definitely up there with Kobe,” Teague said on the Club 520 podcast.
Meanwhile, Curry scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from deep in the final against France. He pulled that tournament-long scoring average to 14.8 points and dragged the three-point percentage up to 47.8.
On the other hand, Curry recently said he wants to remain a Warrior for the rest of his NBA career.
“I mean, I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life. It’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said, life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly,” Curry said to Yahoo Sports.
Curry will look to keep up the good form in the next season of the NBA for the Dubs.
