Milwaukee Bucks had a mixed start to the season as they won only two matches of the first five they played. Subsequently, they lost five matches in a row during mid-February but since then they have been able to turn the tables. The Bucks have won 24 matches whereas they have lost 14 games and they are currently in third place in the Eastern Conference points table.
Meanwhile, there is no doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the stand-out performer for Milwaukee Bucks. In 38 matches of the franchise in this season, the Greek Freak has top-scored for the team in 34 matches, which is really incredible consistency from the youngster. Thus, he is carrying the team on his shoulders with his all-around performance.
On Friday, Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New York Knicks by 134-101 as Antetokounmpo registered a triple-double, scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, and as many assists. The 26-year-old carried the same form against the Washington Wizards as he scored his second triple on the bounce.
The youngster scored 33 points, 11 boards, 11 assists, 1 steal, and a block as he played at the top of his game against the Wizards on Sunday. Thus, the Bucks won their third consecutive match as they won by 125-119.
After scoring two straight triple-double, Antetokounmpo has matched a 48-year old franchise record of the Milwaukee Bucks. According to EliasSports, Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes the 2nd player in Bucks franchise history to log a triple-double in back-to-back games. The other? Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who achieved the feat in November 1973.
Milwaukee Bucks will hope that their talisman continues the same form in the coming matches. The Bucks will next lock horns against the same team, Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
