Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has played down any worries regarding Steph Curry’s recent shooting slump in the ongoing season of the NBA 2021-22. Curry hasn’t been at his absolute best since December as he has failed to shoot at his own standards.
Golden State Warriors continued their rich form as they won against Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night by 110-106. Curry scored 19 points in the team’s win but shot 5-18 feld goals and converted only three out of the 10 three pointers he attempted. Thus, Curry hasn’t been at his best with his shooting accuracy and has struggled to find the basket on consistent basis.
Steve Kerr said after the game, “I think he’s gonna be fine. I know this is a question I’m going to keep getting if he is not shooting the ball well, but I’m not worried about it. I’m just not. He’s Steph Curry. One of the great players of all time. He had a tough night tonight but he helps us win routinely and do so much beyond just making shots.”
However, Curry has been contributing defensively as he scored eight dimes and seven rebounds in 36 minutes he played.
In fact, as Curry hasn’t been at his best with his shooting accuracy, it has been feared if he isn’t 100% fit. However, Kerr cleared those reports and revealed that the linchpin is fit as a fiddle.
Kerr added, “He’s told me he feels great, physically. We’ve talked a lot about the schedule and the minutes. I’m really aware of what needs to happen in terms of monitoring his minutes and when we can push it a little harder when we can. I talk to Rick [Celebrini] about it all the time as well. And I think he’s in a good place physically.”
Meanwhile, the match went down to the wire as it was a see-saw battle. Curry and Klay Thompson were able to bring their best to keep their team in front.
Golden State Warriors will next face Houston Rockets on Monday night.
