It is reported that the LA Lakers talisman LeBron James could return back to action from the high ankle sprain which he suffered last month. James suffered the injury while playing against Atlanta Hawks when the opposition’s Solomon Hill accidently rolled over his ankle. The Lakers went on to lose that game by 99-94 but most importantly lost the services of Akron Hammer.
James has been a pivotal cog of LA Lakers and his absence has been deeply missed by the defending champions. It has been reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on NBA Countdown on Saturday that James can be back in action next week.
“You’ll see Anthony Davis still be on that 15-minute restriction in his second game back tonight, but that’ll start ramping up as we get closer to LeBron James’ return, which could be as soon as the following week,” Wojnarowski said.
The four-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion has averaged 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game for the Lakers. Meanwhile, the Lakers had a record of 26-13 when James was playing but it dropped to 9-11 when he was on the sidelines due to injury.
James has done the bulk of the scoring for the Lakers and the team has missed him dearly. Meanwhile, Lakers’ other linchpin Anthony Davis returned back to action last week on Thursday and it has been a big positive for the team.
The Lakers currently have a 35-25 record and they will need to pull up their socks. In fact, the Lakers have lost four out of their last five matches. The Lakers will next lock horns against Orlando Magic on Monday night.
