Miami Heat continued their domination over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. The Heat won the fourth game of the series by 112-109 to take a 3-1 lead and move a game closer to the NBA finals. It was a complete performance from the Heat as they came up with a collective effort.
The 20-year old rookie Tyler Herro was once again at his best for the Miami Heat as the youngster top scored for his team with 37 points, which is his career-best performance.
Herro’s 37 points is the most points scored by a rookie off the bench in a NBA playoff game. The youngster went past the previous record held by Andrew Tooney, who had scored 35 points back in 1981. Furthermore, it is also the most points scored by a rookie during a Conference finals.
Tyler Herro is the youngest player in NBA history to drop 30 points in a playoff game off the bench. Herro was at his best as he shot 14-21 from the field and 5-10 from deep.
In fact, Herro is mostly the shooter for the Heat but he also performed the other roles to perfection. He scored six rebounds and three assists as he came up with an all-round performance.
Meanwhile, Herro is also on the cusp of breaking another record. The 20-year old has already scored 214 points in his maiden playoff season.
Consequently, he is at the second place in the list of all-time scorers for most points by a rookie off the bench in a single NBA playoff edition. Herro would be eyeing to go past Spurs legend Manu Ginobili, who had scored 226 runs in the 2002-03 season.
The fifth of the series will be played on Saturday.
