Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry has been at his absolute best in the ongoing season for his team. Curry has single-handedly taken his teams to wins in this season and he has played an instrumental role in the success of the team. In fact, Curry had missed most of the previous season due to a hand injury but he has made a solid comeback in the ongoing edition.
In the previous season, as Curry and Klay Thompson were on the sidelines, GSW finished with their worst-ever record in the league. In fact, Thompson was expected to return in the ongoing season but suffered a different Achilles injury, which once again ruled him out. Thus, the onus of GSW has been on the shoulders of Steph Curry and he has been carrying the load of the whole team.
Meanwhile, Curry has put forward his name in the MVP race and he is currently one of the front contenders for the title. The 33-year old was in the beast mode against Boston Celtics as he scored a whopping 47 points. However, Curry’s heroics went in vain as Golden State Warriors lost by 119-114. Curry has been deadly accurate with his shots and he is doing a fine job.
For the season, Stephen Curry is averaging 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as he has played at the top of his game.
Magic Johnson took to Twitter to heap praise on the linchpin. Johnson’s tweet read, “It’s hard to deny Steph Curry from being the NBA’s MVP! He is the #1, #2, and #3 option for the Warriors and is STILL dominating!”.
GSW has a 28-29 record currently and they will aim to come up with collective effort in the coming matches. Warriors will next face Philadelphia 76ERS on Monday night.
