LA Lakers talisman LeBron James has been in sensational form since December and he has been carrying the team on his shoulders. James once again came up with his best as he dropped 33 points against Brooklyn Nets and led the team to a 106-96 win on Tuesday night. James scored 14/21 field goals and converted 3/3 from the free-throw line.
James has been trying his best to get the best out of his teammates and he has been ticking the right boxes. In fact, James has scored more than 25 points in his last 18 matches for the Lakers as he has done the bulk of the scoring for the team.
James said he is focused on leading the team and getting the best out of his teammates.
“I basically just told myself, ‘Nothing else matters besides what you do out on the floor and how you continue to lead these guys.’ It doesn’t matter the conversations that are going on outside of our locker room and the narration of our ballclub or whatever is going on, the injuries, all that stuff,” he said.
James added: “Nothing else matters besides what I bring to the table every single night. How positive I can continue to lead these guys, no matter the outcome. And if I have a position to play this game the way I do, then go out and make the most of it.”
“So, stay low and keep firing is the motto I’ve been on for, I don’t know however long it’s been, but I don’t have an excuse. And I won’t make one.”
Meanwhile, despite James’ prolific form, LA Lakers has struggled to get going in the ongoing season as he has been the lone warrior for his team and he hasn’t got the support from his teammates.
However, James will be determined to turn the tables for his team as Anthony Davis has also made a comeback after missing the last 17 matches due to a knee injury. The Lakers currently have a 24-24 record and they are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings.
Lakers will next face the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
