It has been a disappointing start for LA Clippers since the NBA resumption in Orlando. Clippers haven’t been able to get their act together thus far and it has been palpable in their disappointing results. On 10 August, Clippers lost their third match since the resumption when they took on seventh placed Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets were able to stun the second placed Clippers by 129-120, with Caris LeVert scoring 27 points for the winners. The Clippers, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief when Kawhi Leonard made a comeback after missing the previous match but there was no Paul George in their team.
Despite Kawhi Leonard top-scoring with 39 points, he could not save himself from defeat. Thus far, the LA Clippers have played six matches since the NBA season has returned and they have won three matches and lost as many. Ergo, they have struggled to get going like the LA Lakers, who have won two and lost four games.
It is not a good sign for the LA Clippers before the playoff stages and their head Doc Rivers has admitted that the team has been inconsistent and they would need to pull up their socks.
In the post-game interview, head coach Doc Rivers was asked, “What do you think about the level of your team “I think we’ve been inconsistent,” Rivers replied.
“We’ve had a lot of guys in and out. Obviously not the way you would plan on heading into the playoffs. But it is what it is. We just have to make the best of it. We’re hoping by playoff time we have our entire roster in the same state, that would be nice. Hopefully, we can find some kind of rhythm because right now we’ve been very inconsistent.”so far going into the Playoffs? Are you satisfied?”
The LA Clippers would aim to turn the tables in the upcoming matches and they would like to find their impetus before the playoff stages. The team has also dearly missed the services of Montrezl Harrell.
The LA Clippers will need to come up with a collective team effort and they can not depend solely on the shoulders of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to take them forward.
The LA Clippers will play their next match against Denver Nuggets on 13th August and they would like to get back into form.
