Bharat Arun reveals how India’s pace battery is consistently clocking 140 kmph

India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has revealed how the team’s pace battery is consistently bowling above 140 kmph. The Indian pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini are all catapulting thunderbolts and they consistently go past the 140 kmph barrier.

One of the big factors for India’s fast bowlers to clock high speed is the fact that they are super fit. A lot of importance is given to fitness and thus the results have been fruitful.

Bharat Arun reveals that the workload of every fast bowler is monitored with the help of the GPS tracker. Accordingly, the bowler is asked to train in the practice session. A fast bowler is expected to run around 20 km in a single day and thus the training regime is prepared after considering the details of the GPS tracker.

“When we talk about workload management, we are looking at the number of overs a bowler has bowled. But then a bowler can over-exert himself in a game and that is not under your control. So we use the GPS tracker to monitor all his movements on the field,” Arun said on episode three of Inside Out, a show hosted by India women coach WV Raman.

“For example, a bowler runs around 20 km on the field. And the tracker gives us a lot of data and information about the bowler concerned. By analysing those data, you can manage the workload at training sessions. Basically, you need to find the right balance. And the Indian bowlers have managed to do that so far.

“This is the reason why we are successful as a bowling unit and the bowlers can bowl at 140 kmph regularly.”

Bharat Arun has done a fine job with the Indian pacers and he has given them the right confidence. Furthermore, the Indian captain Virat Kohli has also motivated the pace battery and he has backed them to the hilt.

There is no qualm that the present crop of India’s fast bowlers is collectively the best unit in the history of Indian cricket. The fast bowlers have bowled their hearts out and the results have been palpable.

India also has a potent bench strength and almost all the fast bowlers can bowl at an express pace. Thus, they have been able to trouble the opposition batsmen.

On the other hand, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are India’s first choice pacers in the Test team. The trio have not only bowled fast but they have been accurate with their line and length, which is equally important to savour success.

The bowlers have been right on the money and they have played a key role in India’s success in the recent past. Ergo, the Indian fast bowlers will look to continue their good show going in the future.
