The IPL gives an opportunity to the young players to showcase their skills. It gives them a platform to play with and against one of the best in the business. The upcoming season of the IPL will once again bring the bagful of chances for the prodigy players to impress with their skills.
Kolkata Knight Riders bowling coach Kyle Mills has stated the young bowlers of his team should embrace the challenge of bowling to RCB captain Virat Kohli, who is currently the best batsman in the world. KKR have young pacers like Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishna and Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Mills wants them to bring their best while bowling to Kohli.
It will be a challenge for the youngsters to bowl to a world-class batsman like Kohli. However, at the same time, it would be a perfect opportunity for these bowlers to impress with their skills and make a name for themselves.
The youngsters would aim to push the envelope while bowling to Kohli, as they would need to be at the top of their game. There will be no mercy from Kohli’s end and the young players would need to pull up their socks.
Mills feels it would be a great opportunity for these youngsters to make a statement by grabbing their opportunities while playing against the best in the business.
Kyle Mills said while talking to ANI, “Embrace the challenge of playing against Virat Kohli, that would be the message from me to young guys like Nagarkoti and Mavi in the group. Kohli is the best cricketer in the world, he is amazing to watch. He certainly leads by example off the park as well. For our young bowlers, they can make a statement”.
All these young players will play under the tutelage of Brendon McCullum, who has all the experience under his belt. Furthermore, it would be a great opportunity for the young guns to play with Eoin Morgan, who had taken England to World Cup glory. Thus, it would be a great learning experience for the young players of KKR.
KKR will play their opening match of the season against defending champions Mumbai Indians at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 23rd September.
