Legendary Muttiah Muralitharan has hailed Ravi Bishnoi, stating that he is very different from other leg-spinner. Bishnoi impressed with the ball in the T20I series against Australia, taking seven wickets in first four matches at an average of 19.29.
Bishnoi is well known to bowl more wrong ones and has a quick arm action, which makes it difficult for the batter to pick him up. The 23-year-old from Jodhpur has scalped 32 wickets in 21 T20I matches at an average of 17.56.
The leg-spinner has also snared 53 wickets in 52 IPL matches at an average of 27.42.
“India have always had a good, uh, set of spin in every generation. You see from Anil (Kumble) to (Ravi) Ashwin to now the young guys who have come. Bishnoi is different from any other leg spinner than any other ones. He bowls quicker and he makes slides the ball a lot and Axar also is very accurate, not a big spinner of the ball and Washi also is similar because he doesn’t turn much and is very accurate and quite quicker,” Muralitharan said on JioCinema.
The former Sri Lankan spinner said the bowler must bowl according to the field to savor success at the top level and the bowler must be aware of the batter’s strengths.
“I think the most important thing is for the bowler to bowl to one’s field. Set up a field and bowl to that field. It is important to see the batsman’s stronger point as well,” concluded the legendary spinner.
Meanwhile, Bishnoi was at his absolute best in the fourth T20I against Australia, returning with impressive figures of 1-17 in his quota of four overs.
Bishnoi is also named in India’s three-match T20I series squad against South Africa. The first T20I between India and South Africa will be played at the Kingsmead, Durban on 10th December.
