India will face South Africa in the second ODI at the JSCA International Cricket Complex on Sunday. The Proteas had drawn first blood in the series after they won the opening game by nine runs at Lucknow on Thursday.
The visitors came up with a good batting show to post 249 runs on the board on a difficult pitch after Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller scored 74 and 75 runs respectively as the Indian bowlers could not keep them at bay.
Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur were the pick of the bowlers for the home team but the rest failed to keep the scoring rate under check in the fag end of the innings.
On the other hand, India’s top order crumbled like a pack of cards as they found themselves on the ropes at 51-4 after fine spells from Kagiso Rabada and Wayne Parnell. Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson were able to bail their team out of the jail but they had too much to do in the end.
South Africa will be delighted as they were able to come up with a collective effort with both the bat and ball. The Proteas will look to continue their good show while it will be a must-win match for the hosts.
Match Prediction: With impetus on their side, South Africa will enter the contest as favorites against India.
