India will take on Sri Lanka in the third ODI at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. The home team has already taken an impregnable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series and this was their 10th straight ODI series win against Sri Lanka.
India was able to bundle out Sri Lanka at 215 runs in the second game despite the visitors cruising at one stage at 102-1. Kuldeep Yadav bowled a match-winning spell as he scalped three wickets for the hosts. Furthermore, KL Rahul played a gutsy knock of 64 runs off 103 balls to help his team chase down 216 runs and win by four wickets.
Moreover, Mohammed Siraj continued his good show for India as he took three wickets for the home team.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s batting performance was disappointing. The visiting batters failed to get off to starts however debutant Nuwanindu Fernando’s (50) performance was impressive. Furthermore, Sri Lankan fast bowlers did a decent job and put some pressure on the home team as they were struggling at 86-4 at one stage.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma hinted the team could make some changes to the playing XI as they have already sealed the series and they want their players to be fresh for the New Zealand series.
