The five-time champions Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Capitals in the 69th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday.
The equation is simple for Delhi Capitals – win this game and qualify for the playoff stages.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians can play party spoilers and if they win, they will be doing a huge favor to teams like RCB and PBKS (SRH is all but out of the competition). Mumbai is all set to finish as cellar-dwellers of the tournament even if they win against Delhi Capitals.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals came up with a fine performance against Punjab Kings in their previous match. DC could only post 159 runs on the board after Mitchell Marsh scored a fine knock however DC bowled brilliantly to defend a sub-par score.
Shardul Thakur had scalped four wickets whereas Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav had snared two wickets apiece to help their team win the crucial game.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians should have won their previous game against SRH. 19 runs were needed off the last 13 balls but they could not get over the line. Tim David had scored a blistering knock of 46 runs off just 18 balls as he once again impressed with his pyrotechnics but his efforts went in vain.
Match Prediction: Delhi Capitals will enter the contest as favorites against beleaguered Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians XI Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan (wk), Tristan Stubbs, Tilak Verma, Tim David, Ramandeep Singh, Daniel Sams, Hritik Shokeen, Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar Kartikeya, Riley Meredith.
