2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns against the inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals in the fifth match of the season at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Tuesday.
Both teams had struggled to get going in the previous season and they would be determined to start their campaign on a winning note.
We take a look at Picks for the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Rajasthan Royals. We will look at head-to-head records, stats, players to look out for in the upcoming match.
Rajasthan Royals are boosted by a strong bowling line-up, which has the skills to take them all the way in the competition. The Royals were able to add players like Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal in IPL auction. They will rely on the shoulders of Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson, and Jos Buttler for the majority of their work in the batting order.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lack of experience in their batting unit could once again be their Achilles Heel. The Orange Army would want Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Rahul Tripathi, Glenn Phillips, and Aiden Markram to deliver for them.
Head to Head: Matches – 15, Won by SRH – 8, Won by RR – 7.
It is almost even stevens as far as the head-to-head record is concerned between the two teams.
Players to look out for: Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler will be the key players for RR.
Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Shreyas Gopal will hold the key for SRH.
Prediction: RR will enter the contest as favorites as they have a slightly better squad.
