Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar believes Kuldeep Yadav is making a case for himself after performing well in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022.
The Little Master feels Kuldeep is increasing his chances of returning back to the national team as he is picking wickets at regular intervals in the IPL 2022.
Yadav returned with impressive bowling figures of 4-35 in his quota of four overs against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday. Kuldeep now has taken 10 wickets in four matches, which is the joint second highest in the tournament.
In fact, Kuldeep had recently made a comeback into the national team and skipper Rohit Sharma has given him a lot of confidence.
However, it hasn’t been the best last 24 months for the wrist spinner and he would need to continue his good show in the IPL to get his confidence as well as his place back in the national team.
“Any time you get four wickets in a T20 format, you bowled exceptionally well. And the way he was picking the wickets, at crucial times was also important. The fact that he has now begun to pick wickets means that chances of him making a comeback to the Indian team also increases.
He is that kind of a bowler, a left-arm wrist spinner, who can bowl the googly as well, a very well-disguised googly. And he is bowling a lot flatter. Earlier on he was little slow off the pitch, now he is a little quicker off the pitch which makes batting a little bit more difficult against him,” said the India legend on Star Sports.
This performance will certainly add a shot in Kuldeep Yadav’s arm as he wasn’t getting his opportunities at KKR. Yadav has all the experience under his belt and he has bowled with an average of 11.60.
Kuldeep has got the right rhythm and he will look to continue the same in the upcoming matches for the Rishabh Pant-led team. DC will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
