Delhi Capitals will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the 41st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. Both of these teams had lost their respective previous matches of the season and they will look to bounce back to the winning ways.
DC had lost against Rajasthan Royals by 15 runs whereas KKR suffered an eight-run defeat against Gujarat Titans. The batting units of both these sides have disappointed and they will be looking to turn the tables.
DC conceded 222 runs against the inaugural champions and they would want to be tighter with their bowling. In fact, Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Lalit Yadav, and Rishabh Pant all got off to startsin the last game but none of them could go on to convert it into a big score.
Shaw and Warner have been consistent at the top of the order but DC middle-order has been a cause of concern. However, DC will be lifted by the presence of Ricky Ponting who had to quarantine himself in the previous match.
On the other hand, KKR has also failed to come up with a collective effort with both bat and ball. Tim Southee and Andre Russell were brilliant with the ball but KKR hasn’t been consistent enough with the bat as they have been losing wickets in clusters.
