Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Chennai Super Kings in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Wednesday. RCB has veered off the track in the last few matches after getting off to a solid start in the early stages of the tournament whereas CSK is hanging on by a thin thread.
RCB lost their previous match against Gujarat Titans despite posting a fighting score of 170 runs on the board. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings had won against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs after Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway scored brilliant knocks. It was a fine alliance between these two batters as they had added 182 runs.
MS Dhoni returned as CSK skipper and it made a lot of difference as he was able to get the best out of his players. Ravindra Jadeja will now look to play without any pressure and deliver for the team.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli getting back amongst the runs was a huge positive for RCB and the talisman will look to continue the same kind of form against the defending champions. However, RCB would want to be more clinical with the ball as they couldn’t win the crucial stages of the game in the previous fixture.
RCB will look to get back to winning ways whereas CSK will aim to build on the winning impetus.
Match Prediction: RCB might start as favorites against CSK, which has failed to play up to their potential.
RCB Probable Playing 11: Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, Shahbaz Ahmed, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj.
CSK Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Shivam Dube, Maheesh Theekshana, Dwaine Pretorius, Simarjeet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary.
