Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra reckons Delhi Capitals have zero weakness in their bowling unit for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. DC have fast bowlers like Khaleel Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Chetan Sakariya, Ishant Sharma, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, and Mukesh Kumar in their squad.
Furthermore, they have spinners like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav in their roster. DC has a lot of experience in their bowling line-up and David Warner will look to get the best out of his bowlers.
“The bowling looks formidable. There is no weakness in bowling. They have Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, who bowled amazingly well last time, picked up a lot of wickets and he was absolutely brilliant,” Chopra said on his show AakashVani.
The renowned commentator showered praise on Anrich Nortje. The South African gun paceman is known for his speed and he had scalped 22 wickets in 16 matches of IPL 2020 and had played a key role in taking the franchise to the final of the tournament.
“Anrich Nortje – fit, available, and raring to go. Then Mustafizur Rahman, Lungi Ngidi, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma. They also have Pravin Dubey, Vicky Ostwal and Aman Khan. This team will not have a problem with bowlers,” Chopra said.
“They used to have Shardul, they let him go. Now that Anrich Nortje is fit, available, and raring to go – incredible. He is my favorite T20 bowler after Jasprit Bumrah. He is absolutely brilliant,” he further added on the matter.
DC will want to come up with a collective effort in the upcoming season. However, they are going to miss the services of Rishabh Pant in the middle order.
Delhi Capitals will kick off their IPL 2023 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on 1st April.
