IPL 2023: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – Stats Preview

Kolkata Knight Riders will host Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ninth match of IPL 2023 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Thursday. KKR had lost their opening clash against Punjab Kings whereas RCB had comprehensively beaten MI by eight wickets.

Thus, KKR will look to register their first win of the season whereas RCB will want to carry the winning impetus against the home team.

Virat Kohli has scored 6706 in 224 IPL matches and thus he is 294 runs away from becoming the first player in the IPL to score 7000 runs in the tournament.

RCB’s veteran wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has amassed 4376 runs in 230 IPL matches at an average of 26.68. Karthik is 124 runs away from reaching the 4500-run mark in the IPL. He will become the second wicket-keeper in the IPL to do so after MS Dhoni.

Andre Russell has scalped 89 wickets in the 99 matches he has played in the IPL. Thus, the all-rounder is 11 wickets away from completing 100 wickets.

KKR’s experienced fast bowler Tim Southee has taken 47 wickets in 53 IPL matches and the Kiwi pacer needs another three more scalps to complete 50 wickets in the tournament.

KKR’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has picked up 43 wickets in as many matches and ergo he needs another seven wickets to get to the landmark of 50 wickets.
