IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings – Dafanews Match Preview

Mumbai Indians will be up against Punjab Kings in the 31st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday. Mumbai has won three out of the five matches they have played whereas Punjab Kings have won three and lost as many so far in the tournament.

We look at the current form, head-to-head, players to look out for, and squads of both teams in our match preview.

Current form for PBKS: L W L L W

Punjab Kings could not get over the line in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Mohali-based franchise has clearly missed the services of their full-time skipper Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order. Liam Livingstone also played his first match of the season against RCB but failed to make a mark.

Current form for MI: W W W L L

We have seen on umpteen occasions that MI are slow starters in the tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led team got off to a poor start, losing their first two matches of the season but they have won their last three matches and one expects them to keep getting better.

Head to Head: Matches: 29, Won by MI: 15, Won by PBKS: 14.

It is almost even-stevens in H2H battle but MI holds a slight advantage.

Players to watch out for: Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Arshdeep Singh, Sikandar Raza, and Kagiso Rabada will hold the key for PBKS.

Tim David, Rohit Sharma, Jofra Archer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Cameron Green, and Jason Behrendorff will be the key players for MI.
