Gujarat Titans spinner Sai Kishore hailed head coach Ashish Nehra for creating a beautiful environment to get the best out of the players in the ongoing Indian Premier League. The Titans registered a three-wicket win against Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Sunday.
After losing the toss, GT were able to bundle out the home team on a paltry score of 142 runs. PBKS got off to a decent start with their openers – Prabhsimran Singh and Sam Curran – adding 52 runs off 33 balls.
Meanwhile, Sai Kishore was the chief destroyer as the left-arm orthodox spinner returned with impressive figures of 4-33 in his quota of four overs. Kishore accounted for Jitesh Sharma, Shashank Singh, Ashutosh Sharma, and Harpreet Brar and thus played a key role in keeping the opposition to a below-par score.
On the other hand, Ashish Nehra has played a key role in the success of Gujarat Titans. Under Nehra’s tutelage, GT won the IPL title in 2022 and made it to the finals in the previous season.
Sai Kishore was awarded the Player of the Match for his fine bowling performance. Kishore gave credit to Ashish Nehra for getting the best out of him.
Kishore said in the post-match presentation, “Just trying to give my 120% for the team, playing after 20-25 days, so just wanted to go there, enjoy myself and give my everything. Ashish Nehra has created a beautiful environment where we can be fearless and play for the team no matter what the result is. He told me to enjoy myself and gave me a lot of freedom to express myself.”
He added, “Instinctively I felt into the wicket and just change of pace was the way to go here, it worked out beautifully. Credit to everyone who showed up today. Rahul played an amazing knock once again. Rashid and Noor bowled beautifully, overall complete team effort.”
