Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants in the 64th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Tuesday. Delhi Capitals are on the verge of elimination after their 47-run loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
DC will need to beat LSG by 96 runs or more in order to stay in contention for the playoffs. On the other hand, LSG will need to win their remaining two matches and hope that CSK and SRH stay on 14 points. LSG has a poor Net Run Rate of -0.769 and thus needs to bring their best in the last two games.
Meanwhile, DC was poor in the field as they could not hang on to their catches against RCB. Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks were given two lives each and it led to their downfall. DC was skittled out for 140 runs without the services of their full-time captain Rishabh Pant.
On the other hand, LSG suffered a drubbing against Sunrisers Hyderabad as the opposition chased down 166 runs off just 9.4 overs with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma scoring 89 and 75 runs respectively. That heavy defeat took a toll on LSG’s Net Run Rate and their bowlers will need to pull up their socks.
Furthermore, LSG’s top-order adopted a timid batting approach in the first phase of the innings against the Orange Army and KL Rahul will need to lead from the front.
Match Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants will enter the contest as favorites against Delhi Capitals.
