The previous season’s finalists – Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings – will take on each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad in the 59th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 on Friday. CSK could only manage 167 runs on the board in the previous match against Punjab Kings but their bowlers did a great job in restricting the opposition to 139. The reigning champions have suffered a huge blow as Matheesha Pathirana has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Sri Lankan seamer was doing a fantastic job for the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team and it will be difficult for them to fill in his shoes.
Gujarat Titans was skittled out for a paltry score of 147 runs in their last game by Royal Challengers Bengaluru and they need to come up with a better batting show. GT lost three wickets in the Powerplay overs and could not find any kind of impetus in their batting innings.
