Rajasthan Royals batter Tom Kohler Cadmore has predicted that Riyan Parag will play a lot for India. Parag has been in sensational form for RR in the ongoing Indian Premier League. After not being able to prove his mettle in the last five editions of the IPL, Parag has been batting at his best in the ongoing season.
Parag is Rajasthan’s highest run-getter of the season so far with 531 runs in 12 innings at an impressive average of 59 and a blistering strike rate of 152.58.
The right-hander from Assam has scored four fifties in IPL 2024 and has played a key role in taking the inaugural champions to the playoffs. Parag also scored 510 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and took Assam to the semifinals. Furthermore, Parag can bowl off-spin and he is a gun fielder.
“Very inspirational actually. I’ve followed his journey a little bit from afar. He’s had a couple of tough years, he’s had a lot of abuses and he’s had a lot of people kind of hating on him. For him to be able to come out this year and show everyone actually how good he is, the performance, the pressure he was under … to be able to do it, I think we are seeing a future star in the making. I am sure he’ll play a lot for India,” said Kohler Cadmore in the pre-match chat ahead of RR vs KKR Match 70 in IPL 2024.
The 29-year-old added that the dressing room’s mood is good despite four losses on the bounce.
“I don’t think you’d be able to tell that we’ve lost four in a row. Great spirit among the lads, everyone is really close and confident. We all have each others’ backing,” he added.
RR will take on RCB in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
