Delhi Capitals will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Monday. Rishabh Pant, the former Delhi Capitals captain, will lead Lucknow Super Giants after he was bagged for a whopping amount of INR 27 crore.
But LSG are hit with injury woes even before their season has started. Shardul Thakur has replaced Mohsin Khan but LSG lacks firepower in their fast bowling department.
LSG have a potent batting order as they have the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, David Miller and Nicholas Pooran and they would want the quartet to deliver for the franchise.
On the other hand, former LSG captain KL Rahul will feature for Delhi Capitals. As Axar Patel has been given the leadership role, Rahul can play with more freedom at the top of the order. But Harry Brook has pulled out of the tournament, which is a huge blow for the franchise.
DC ticks all the boxes in their squad but their only concern would be the lack of experience in the lower-middle order.
