New Zealand will lock horns against India in the third ODI at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Wednesday. The Kiwis had taken a 1-0 lead after winning the first game convincingly by seven wickets while the second game was washed out due to rain.
Shubman Gill has looked in good touch in the series and he will be eyeing a big score to make a mark. Suryakumar Yadav was able to hit the ground running in the second game and he would want to make the most of his good form.
On the other hand, Tom Latham had scored a fine hundred in the first game whereas Kane Williamson had also played a brilliant knock to help his team get over the line in the run-chase.
However, India’s bowling looked toothless against the Kiwis in the first game. Umran Malik made an impressive start to his ODI career as he scalped two wickets but Arshdeep Singh failed to impress in his maiden ODI game.
Deepak Hooda was included in the second game and he is expected to get the backing as he can contribute with the ball as a sixth bowler for Shikhar Dhawan.
The weather has played killjoy in the series and once again rain is forecasted in Christchurch, which will be frustrating for the players.
Match Prediction: With momentum on their side, New Zealand will enter the contest as favorites against an inexperienced Indian team.
