Paarl Royals will play their second match of the ongoing SA20 2023 against Joburg Super Kings at Boland Park, Paarl on Friday. The Royals had lost their opener against MI Cape Town by eight wickets and they will seek their first win of the tournament.
On the other hand, Joburg Super Kings won their opening game against Durban Super Giants by 16 runs and they will be looking to continue the winning impetus.
Meanwhile, Paarl Royals were not at their best in the previous match as they could only manage 142 runs on the board. The batting conditions were difficult but Jos Buttler (51) and David Miller (42) – two of the Royals’ most important batters – were able to get among the runs.
In fact, the Royals will want to come up with a better bowling performance as well as three of their bowlers were on the expensive side.
Joburg Super Kings, on the other hand, had found themselves in a pickle at 27-4 against Durban Super Giants. However, Donavon Ferreira was able to rescue his team from the trouble as he smote 40-ball 82 to power his team to 190-6. Subsequently, the Kings were able to defend the total to win their first match of the season.
Match Prediction: It is expected to be a tight contest between these two teams but Paarl Royals might have a slight advantage against Joburg Super Kings.
