Australia will lock horns against Namibia in the 24th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Tuesday. The Aussies have won both of their opening matches and look all set to qualify for the Super 8 stage.
Namibia, on the other hand, have won one and lost one so far and thus it will be a must-win contest for them.
Australia registered a convincing win of 36 runs against arch-rivals England in the last game. The Australian batters came up with an aggressive approach as they posted 201 runs on the board despite no batter going past the 40-run mark. Most of the Australian batters batted with a strike rate of more than 150 and played a key role in helping their team get past the 200-run mark.
Furthermore, Adam Zampa bowled a brilliant spell, returning with 2-28 whereas Pat Cummins registered impressive figures of 2-23 in his quota of four overs.
Meanwhile, Namibia lost their previous match against Scotland by five wickets. Namibia’s captain Gerhard Erasmus scored an impressive knock of 52 runs off 31 balls but he didn’t get support from other batters. Erasmus also bagged two wickets (2-29) but his all-round performance went in vain.
Match Prediction: Australia will definitely enter the contest as favorites against depleted Namibia.
