The Netherlands will lock horns against South Africa in the 16th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on Saturday. The Dutch had stunned the Proteas by 13 runs in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup with Colin Ackermann scoring an unbeaten 41. Furthermore, the Netherlands had also shocked the Rainbow Nation by 38 runs in the ODI World Cup 2023.
South Africa have been haunted by such losses in the past and they will want to deliver as a unit against the Netherlands. The Dutch will definitely want to replicate their previous success against SA.
Meanwhile, South Africa kicked off their campaign on a high as they registered a six-wicket win against Sri Lanka. The Proteas bowlers were right on the money as they skittled out the opposition at 77 and Anrich Nortje bowled a superb spell of 4-7.
On the other hand, the Netherlands won their opener against Nepal by six wickets after bundling out the Asian team for 106. Tim Pringle, the left-arm orthodox spinner, returned with impressive figures of 3-20 and bagged the Player of the Match award.
Furthermore, Max O’Dowd played an unbeaten knock of 54 runs in the run-chase and got his team over the line.
