South Africa will lock horns against Bangladesh in the 21st match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on Monday. South Africa has won both of their matches whereas Bangladesh won their opener against arch-rivals Sri Lanka.
The Proteas registered a heart-racking four-wicket win against the Netherlands. South Africa has floundered under pressure on multiple occasions at the World Cup stage but they showed that they can make the most of their experience and keep calm.
David Miller scored an unbeaten knock of 59 runs off 51 balls to help his team get over the line against the Dutch. Furthermore, South African bowlers were right on the money with Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen bagging two wickets apiece whereas Ottneil Baartman returned with impressive figures of 4-11 in his quota of four overs.
This win would have certainly added a lot of confidence to South Africa as they were able to come out of a tricky situation.
On the other hand, Bangladesh bowlers came up with a brilliant show, restricting Sri Lanka to 124-9. Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain bagged three wickets each whereas Taskin Ahmed picked two scalps. Moreover, Towhid Hridoy scored a crucial knock of 20-ball 40 in the run-chase whereas Litton Das scored 36 runs.
Match Prediction: South Africa will enter the contest as favorites against Bangladesh.
