Sri Lanka will lock horns against Nepal in the 23rd match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida on Tuesday. The Island nation is standing at the elimination doors after losing their opening two matches of the tournament.
On the other hand, Nepal lost their opening match against the Netherlands by six wickets and it will be a must-win match for them. Nepal had great support for the match against the Dutch and they will want to take advantage of the fans’ backing.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka could only post 124 runs in the last game against arch-rivals Bangladesh and thus they need to come up with a better batting performance. Pathum Nissanka scored 47 runs off 28 balls but the rest of the batters could not make any substantial contribution.
Furthermore, Nuwan Thushara bagged four wickets against the Tigers but Sri Lanka could not keep Towhid Hridoy at bay.
Nepal was bowled out for a paltry score of 106 runs against the Netherlands and they will also need to pull up their socks with the bat. Nepali captain Rohit Paudel scored 35 but he didn’t get any support from other batters.
