West Indies will lock horns against Afghanistan in the 40th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia on Monday. Both of these teams have won all of their three matches and will want to carry the winning impetus.
Afghanistan has a NRR of +4.230 as they have ticked the right boxes with both and ball. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has scored 167 runs in three matches whereas Fazalhaq Farooqi has bagged 12 wickets in many games. Thus, they are the leading run-getter and wicket-taker of the tournament respectively.
The Rashid Khan-led team registered a seven-wicket win against Papua New Guinea in the last game and will want to continue the good show.
On the other hand, the West Indies have been clinical after their thrilling win against PNG. The Windies were able to get themselves out of the hole against New Zealand as Sherfane Rutherford scored a match-winning knock of 68 runs off 39 balls after they were under the cosh at 76-7 at one stage.
West Indies were also able to come up with an impressive bowling show, with Alzarri Joseph returning with 4-19 in his quota of four overs.
