Former Indian batter WV Raman reckons Team India could benefit if they have the services of Sachin Tendulkar as the batting consultant for the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia. Tendulkar is regarded as one of the best batters of all time and his experience could definitely help the Indian batters prepare in the best possible manner for the five-match Test series.
Sachin had a great record while playing against Australia as he amassed 3630 runs in 39 Test matches at an average of 55 with 11 centuries. In Australia, the talismanic right-hander scored 1809 runs in 20 Test matches at an average of 53.20.
“I think that #TeamIndia could benefit if they have the services of Tendulkar as the batting consultant in their prep for the #BGT2025. Enough time between now and the 2nd test. Roping in consultants is rather common these days. Worth a thought?” WV Raman wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Meanwhile, India has won the last two Test series in the Australian conditions and they will look to replicate the same show. But, India recently was shocked by New Zealand despite playing at home as they suffered a 0-3 Test series loss.
Indian batters could not deliver the goods on spin friendly pitches and it led to the team’s downfall. Thus, the batters are low on confidence and adding Sachin Tendulkar to the team’s think tank will definitely boost their confidence.
The opening Test match between India and Australia will be played at Perth from November 22 onwards.
