The execution of his skills was absolutely spot on – Ajit Agarkar hails Jasprit Bumrah’s performances against England

Former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agarkar lauded Jasprit Bumrah’s performances against England in the recently concluded tour. Agarkar said the execution of Bumrah’s skills was absolutely spot on. Jasprit Bumrah was awarded the Player of the Series for India in the Test series as he scalped 23 wickets in five matches at an average of 22.47. Bumrah took five wickets in the rescheduled fifth Test match.

The gun fast bowler continued his good show in the limited-overs formats against the hosts. Bumrah took eight wickets in the two ODI matches at an average of 8.50. The ace paceman returned with figures of 6-19 in the first ODI, which are his best bowling figures in the 50-overs version. Thus, he had played a key role in skittling out the hosts at 110 runs.

Bumrah took two wickets in the solitary T20I game he played against the Lions. The right-arm pacer was brilliant throughout the tour for the visitors as he bowled at the top of his game. Bumrah consistently got the ball to swing and seam both ways and breathed down the neck of the opposition batters.

Ajit Agarkar said while talking to Sony Sports, “It’s no surprise that Jasrpit Bumrah produced the performance that he did in the first ODI against England, 6 for 19. Yes, there was help in the pitch, the conditions were suitable for fast bowling but the execution of his skills was absolutely spot on.”

“We saw everything that a fast bowler should have, whether it was pace, accuracy, control or outfoxing the batters every time. That’s why, rightly so, he picked up six wickets.”

On the other hand, former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra reckons whenever you see Jasprit Bumrah bowl, you have a different type of enjoyment.

“The six wickets he took, they are just numbers, but whether they are six wickets or two or three, whenever you see him bowl, you get a different type of enjoyment. It is not only when the conditions are in favor of bowlers, we have seen how he has bowled even on flat wickets.”

Former Delhi player added that Shami and Bumrah were always going to enjoy bowling in the helpful conditions of England.

“Here you are talking about a pitch where the bowler had help, then Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have so much experience and skills, they will not let you go that easily and Jasprit Bumrah once again showed it by doing it.”

India will next take on West Indies in five T20Is and three ODIs.
