Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has expressed hunger to win more titles after the 2024 T20 World Cup victory. Rohit led India to the T20 World title after they defeated South Africa by seven runs in the summit clash at Barbados. Rohit had also led Mumbai Indians to five titles in the IPL, which is the joint most along with MS Dhoni.
Rohit Sharma scored 257 runs in eight matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.71 and led from the front. The Indian captain got the best out of his players and got the job done for the team.
Rohit said at the Ceat Rating awards, “There is a reason I won five IPL trophies. I’m not going to stop, because once you get the taste of winning games, winning Cups, you don’t want to stop and we’ll keep pushing as a team. We’ll keep striving for better things in the future.”
“We’ve got a couple of solid tours coming up, very challenging ones as well. For us, it never stops. Once you achieve something you always look forward to achieving more. That is what I will be doing. I’m pretty sure my teammates will be thinking on the same line. What I’ve seen in the last two years in Indian cricket, there’s some real excitement, some real good cricket is being played,” he added.
India was outstanding throughout their campaign and Rohit played an instrumental role in taking the team to glory. Rohit was spot on with his field placements and bowling changes throughout the campaign.
India will next take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series and three T20Is.
