Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans captain Srikkanth Anirudha heaped praise on Maan Bafna after the latter scored a match-winning knock against Madurai Panthers in the 23rd match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 at the SCF Cricket Ground, Salem on Wednesday.
Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans posted a fighting score of 129-7 in their 20 overs after Madurai Panthers skipper NS Chaturved decided to bowl first. A lot of credit for that score goes to Maan Bafna as he scored an unbeaten knock of 40 runs off 34 balls. It was a difficult wicket but Bafna played at the top of his game.
On the other hand, Madurai Panthers were skittled out for a paltry score of 76 runs to lose by a huge margin of 53 runs.
Anirudha reckons it was a fantastic score as the pitch was difficult to bat on. The ITT captain was also pleased with the fielding effort and believes the energy from his players was spot on.
Srikkanth Anirudha said in the post-match presentation, “What a win! Thought it was a fantastic score. Wicket wasn’t great. Impossible to score off a back of a length. Match-winning knock by Bafna. We fielded brilliantly. Energy out there was very high, so quite cooked right now. At halftime we said we have to make 129 look bigger. Thought we lacked intensity last game. Made up this time.”
Meanwhile, Aswin Crist was the pick of the bowlers for ITT as he scalped three wickets and conceded 13 runs in three overs. Furthermore, Mohan Prasath took two wickets and gave away only 15 runs in his four overs.
On the other hand, Maan Bafna was awarded the Player of the Match for his fine knock of 40 runs as he took his team to 129 runs.
Bafna said in the post-match presentation, “Pitch was difficult. When I went in, it was low, wasn’t coming on. Thought 120-130 was a par score. My role is to play till 17-18th over as we have big hitters like Rajkumar.”
ITT will next take on Chepauk Super Gillies on Friday at the SCF Ground, Salem.
