Royal Challengers Bengaluru medium pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak has had the privilege of sharing the dressing room in the IPL with Virat Kohli. Vyshak, who is known for his bowling variations, hailed Kohli for his work ethic and the work he puts in the training sessions before every match.
The 27-year-old from Bengaluru lauded Kohli for his eating habits and practice routine and said the talisman does everything with precision.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was once again at his absolute best for RCB, scoring 741 runs in 15 innings at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69 in IPL 2024. Kohli ended the tournament as the highest run-getter and bagged the Orange Cap award. Thus, he played an instrumental role in taking RCB to the playoffs.
“Training with Virat Kohli can really impact you as a player. Last season, while I admired him, I paid attention to the finer details such as his work ethic, his process, and his consistency. Whether it is his eating habits or practice routine, everything is done with precision. It is admirable how confident he is before every game, and now I try to have the same confidence every time I step onto the field,” Vyshak was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
On the other hand, Vyshak scalped four wickets in as many games he played in IPL 2024 for RCB. The right-arm pacer revealed Mohammed Siraj’s advice after he proved expensive in one game.
“In my first game for RCB, I did well, but then I conceded 60 runs in the next match. Siraj told me, ‘This is the game, and this is the challenge at the highest level.’ I am keen to keep this in mind and to pass on these lessons whenever I can,” Vijaykumar added.
Meanwhile, Vyshak snared nine wickets in seven matches of IPL 2023 for RCB.
