Australia will take on New Zealand in the 27th match of the ongoing World Cup 2023 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Saturday in a day game. The five-time champions have bounced back into the tournament after registering wins against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands.
New Zealand, on the other hand, suffered their maiden loss of the tournament against India in their last game. Ergo, the Blackcaps will aim to return back to winning ways whereas the Aussies will want to continue the winning impetus.
David Warner has scored back-to-back centuries and his form is a big positive for Australia. Furthermore, Glenn Maxwell also came to the party against the Dutch as he smashed a 40-ball century, the fastest in World Cup history. Moreover, Adam Zampa, who took another four-wicket haul, return to form is also a huge boost for the Australians.
Meanwhile, the Kiwis posted 273 runs against India after fine knocks from Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. However, they could not defend the total despite coming up with a decent bowling show. New Zealand have come up with a collective show so far and they will look to continue the good performance against their neighbors.
However, the Kiwis will want a bit more from their lower middle order as they could not add the finishing touches against India.
Match Prediction: New Zealand will enter the contest as slight favorites against Australia.
