Cristiano Ronaldo is proud after making the cut in Portugal’s Euro squad. This will be the sixth time when the talisman will represent the national team in the European championship. Ronaldo has been in red-hot form for his club Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
The 39-year-old has scored 33 goals and 11 assists in 30 games he has played in the 2023-24 season and he will look to continue his rich form.
On Instagram, Ronaldo shared a photograph of himself in the new Portugal kit and wrote a caption that read, “Proud to be back representing Portugal at Euro. Let’s go with it!”
Meanwhile, Portugal won all 10 matches in the Euro qualifiers, scoring 36 goals and conceding just two. Ronaldo played an instrumental role with 10 goals in nine qualifying appearances. Furthermore, Ronaldo holds the men’s world record for both caps (206) and international goals (128).
Ronaldo made his Euro debut in 2004 and led Portugal to glory in the 2016 edition where they defeated France in the final.
Portugal will begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Czech Republic on 18th June at the Red Bull Arena. Turkey and Georgia are the other two teams in Group F. Before that, Portugal will also play a friendly against Finland.
