Former legendary Brazil player Pele has backed his team to go all the way in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Brazil is the most successful team at the FIFA World Cup after having won the crown on five occasions.
Pele said he has full confidence that Brazil will be able to add the sixth title star to their crest. Meanwhile, Brazil had last won the World Cup back in 2002 when they beat Germany by 2-0 in the final.
Brazil had lost to Belgium by 2-1 in the previous edition of the 2018 World Cup in the quarterfinals clash in Russia.
“The last time I wore the shirt of the Brazilian team, we inaugurated the three stars above the crest,” Pele, the only player to have won three World Cups, captioned the picture. “Now we have five. I can’t wait to add the sixth star.”
“I’m here to give my vote of confidence to this team and wish good luck to our national team,” he said after Tite named his squad earlier this week.
Brazil will begin its World Cup campaign against Serbia on November 24. It also faces Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G of the event.
Brazil has always been a consistent unit in major events and its records speak for themselves. Furthermore, Brazil is currently at the top of the rankings in FIFA with a total of 1841.3 points under their belt and there is no doubt that they enter as one of the biggest favorites.
