Florentin Pogba is delighted to sign a two-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan. The Guinea international footballer said he is happy to be part of one of the biggest clubs in India. The club had made the announcement of Pogba’s signing on Saturday through their social media platforms.
Pogba has played in countries like Turkey, France and the USA and he has all the experience under his belt. Pogba played 33 matches in Ligue 2 in the previous season 2021-22.
Florentin is the elder brother of Paul Pogba, the French International player, who played for Manchester United in the last season.
Florentin Pogba said while talking to ATK Mohun Bagan media team, “To be honest, I’m really happy and proud to be part of ATK Mohun Bagan, one of the biggest clubs in the country. This is such an honour.”
On his decision to play for ATK Mohun Bagan, Pogba said he wanted a new challenge in his football career. He said, “I wanted a new challenge. Coming to India, to discover a new country, new championship, new clubs & new fans is such a good challenge for me. Above all, to be part of this big club’s history.”
Pogba added he still has a lot to discover about the ISL and he is looking forward to the new challenge in his career.
He added, “This is quite new to me. I still have a lot to discover about ISL. Of course, ambassadors such as (Nicholas)Anelka or (Robert) Pires helped to highlight this championship.”
Pogba will bring a lot of experience to the table for the Mariners and he said he will look to make the most of it to play an instrumental role in the success of the team.
He said, “I thank God every day for giving me this chance to make my passion my job and to have such great opportunities & challenges. Playing in different leagues (France, USA, Turkey) helps each player to grow, and improve his game but also helps him understand his teammates and competitors better. I really want to bring my experience to help the team and the club, as best I can, and win trophies together.”
