Ahead of the ninth season of the Hero Indian Super League 2022, the league has announced three changes to the schedule, which was earlier announced. The changes as per the official website of the league are as follows. All of these three matches have been preponed by three days.
Matchweek 6: Jamshedpur FC vs Hyderabad FC scheduled on November 12, 2022, will now be played on November 9, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
Matchweek 16: Jamshedpur FC vs Bengaluru FC to be played on January 21, 2023, has been rescheduled to January 18, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
Matchweek 22: Odisha FC vs Jamshedpur FC scheduled on February 25, 2023, will now be played on February 22, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the ISL 2022-23 will kick off when previous season runners-up Kerala Blasters FC will take on Emami East Bengal FC on 7th October at Kochi.
ISL 2021-22 champions Hyderabad FC will kick off their campaign in the upcoming edition of the tournament against Mumbai City FC on the 9th of October at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium, Hyderabad.
Earlier, the league had also announced the new format for the playoff stages. According to the new format, the top two teams will directly qualify for the semifinal stages. Subsequently, the third-placed team will face the sixth-ranked side while the fourth and fifth-positioned teams in the standings will face each other in an Eliminator contest.
The teams which will win will advance to the semifinals to join the top two teams and then they will play two-leg matches at home and away stadiums.
