Mumbai City FC attacking midfielder Alberto Noguera has stated he is here is help the team win but he wants more minutes on the pitch. Noguera has played a key role in the Islanders’ success in the ongoing season as he has scored three goals in nine matches.
Des Buckingham’s team has won six matches out of the nine they have played while the remaining three matches have ended in draws. Thus, Mumbai City is still unbeaten in the season and they are at the top of the points table with 21 points.
Meanwhile, the Spaniard has played for 398 minutes on the pitch but he has made a positive impact on the game for the team.
Sharing his thoughts on the ongoing season, Noguera said as quoted by the official website of Hero ISL, “I’m very happy because I could help my team and that’s the important thing, to win.”
When asked if he has more hunger to prove his mettle while coming on as a substitute, the Spanish player said, “Of course, I am here to help the team, and I am looking for more minutes. I need to keep going and give my best.’
Noguera had scored against his former FC Goa when Mumbai City FC won by a comprehensive margin of 4-1.
Asked about his celebration, Noguera said, “Nothing special, it was because my family was there at the stadium. I really love FC Goa as well. The celebration was for my family, who were at the Mumbai Football Arena for the first time.”
Speaking on his partnership with Greg Stewart, Noguera said it makes his job easier when he is playing with quality players.
The Spaniard concluded, “It’s always easier when you play with good players. I am happy because we have been performing well collectively. Doesn’t matter if it’s me, Greg (Stewart) or (Ahmed) Jahouh, whoever is playing is giving their best, and that’s important. What matters, in the end, is three points.”
Mumbai City FC will next take on East Bengal FC on 16th December at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata.
