The 32-year old defender stated the defence of the team is always instrumental in the success of the league and they will aim to come up with their best.
Kone has all the experience under his belt and he would aim to guide the team on the right track. The Burkina Faso International has played with and against one of the best players in the world and he will bring value for Kerala Blasters.
“Defence is very important for a club that wants to win titles. We cannot say we won’t concede goals, but we will have one of the strongest defences in the league,” the Times of India quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, Kone has played 81 matches for his national team and he is the third highest capped player for Burkina Faso. Furthermore, he has played in France, Spain, Turkey and Russia and has played against fine strikers like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Kone revealed that his target is to make his team successful and his experience will help him achieve his goals for the team. The 32-year-old is looking forward to playing in the ISL with all the zeal.
“My best traits are strength, athleticism, and headers. I have joined an interesting project and my aim is to play as much as possible and make the team successful,” he said.
Kerala Blasters had finished the previous season at the seventh place after four wins from 18 matches and they will be looking to come up with better performances.
