Kerala Blasters FC’s talismanic midfielder Adrian Luna has signed a three-year contract extension with the club. The new extension will keep Luna at the Yellow Tuskers till the 2027 season. In 10 matches of the recently concluded ISL 2023-24 season, the Uruguayan scored three goals and provided four assists.
The 32-year-old has made 53 appearances in the ISL, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists. Luna has also created 129 chances for his teammates.
Luna played a key role in taking Kerala Blasters to the final of the 2021-22 season as he scored six goals and produced seven assists in 23 matches he played.
“Kerala Blasters FC is thrilled to announce that it has extended the stay of Club captain and the Club’s most capped foreign player, Adrian Luna, until 2027. This extension underscores Luna’s invaluable contributions and reaffirms his integral role in the squad’s future,” the Blasters said in a statement on its official website.
“Since joining Kerala Blasters FC, Luna has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership and dedication both on and off the field. His remarkable performances have not only earned him the admiration of fans but have also solidified his status as a key player in the Indian Super League,” the statement added.
“The decision to extend Luna’s contract reflects the club’s commitment to building a strong and stable team foundation. With Luna’s contract extension, the club is confident he will play a significant role in helping Kerala Blasters FC further its ambitions in the league,” it continued.
Luna has done a fantastic job in the midfield for Kerala Blasters FC and he will look to keep up the good show for the club.
Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters finished the ISL 2023-24 season in fifth place with 10 wins in 22 games. They suffered a 2-1 loss against Odisha FC in the first knockout match.
