Jamshedpur FC has extended Len Doungel’s contract by another season of the Indian Super League. The forward from Manipur wants to create history with the club. Doungel has been part of Indian football for a long time and he would look to make the most of his experience.
Doungel also played for East Bengal FC and joined Jamshedpur back in 2021 on a permanent deal. The winger has been part of the Red Miners’ setup since then and would want to continue the good show.
The 30-year-old is delighted to extend his contract with the club and wants to keep up the good work.
Doungel said in his statement, “I have unfinished business from the last two seasons and we need to get the club back on the top of the ISL table, a place that the Jharkhand fans deserve. After spending four years with Jamshedpur, the club has truly become like a family. Throughout my time here, I’ve witnessed the immense passion and unwavering support from our dedicated and vocal fans. Their enthusiasm for football is inspiring, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a loyal fan base behind us.”
“With head coach Khalid Jamil at the helm, I will work hard and bring in all my experience to make supporters proud. My goal is to create history with this club. I am grateful to continue my journey here, especially knowing that the coach has faith in my abilities and am determined to contribute in our quest for silverware,” he added.
Jamshedpur FC chief coach Khalid Jamil also expressed his happiness in extending Doungel’s contract.
“Our goal is to assemble a squad that blends youthful energy with seasoned experience. Len, with his vast experience, significantly enhances our attacking capabilities and is at the same defensive too. His commitment to the team is unwavering, and he consistently gives his best effort on the field. Now being one of the most experienced players, I need him to be an example for others with his performance, hard work, passion and dedication.”
Jamshedpur FC finished ISL 2023-24 season in 11th place with five wins in 22 games.
